Jane joined our practice in 2002 as a practice nurse and immediately set about establishing evidence based policies, protocols and procedures which improved the quality and safety of the care we deliver to our patients. Most of these are still in place today and are used by our current practice nurse. While with us she demonstrated excellent organisational and leadership qualities. She played an important role in the training of GPs and nurses for the launch of the national Heartwatch programme in 2004 and went on from there to a training and mentoring role with the RCSI practice nurse programme while still working part time with our practice. Her commitment to evidence based practice and attention to details is an example to others in the healthcare arena.
